Thank you for taking the time to look through our website and consider The City College or The City College of Acupuncture as your chosen place of study.
The college’s motto is ‘where students come first’ and our mission is to deliver academic and educational excellence, thereby enabling our students to fulfil their potential and succeed at the highest possible level. Students who enrol at The City College are expected to share this vision and to strive for success in all their activities.
The City College delivers a range of stimulating, full-time courses in Business, Health and Social Care, Healthcare Practice, Hospitality, Social and Community Work, Travel and Tourism, and International Travel and Tourism. These courses can be studied up to Higher National Diploma (HND) level which is equivalent to the first two years of a full Bachelor’s degree. Indeed, many of our students go on to enrol for a year at university to ‘top-up’ their HND into a degree while others enter employment or set up their own businesses. The Diploma in Education and Training (DET) is also delivered that may be studied part-time or full-time. The DET qualification is for those carrying out a teaching role and who need to gain Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status (QTLS). The City College of Acupuncture delivers a three-year Licentiate in Acupuncture, the level of which is equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. A one or two-year Licentiate in Tui Na is also offered, with enrolment depending on upon existing qualifications. Tui Na (“push-pull”) is a form of medical massage and one of the branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
