1: Programme Leader for Health and Social Care (inc. Social and Community Work)

A fantastic opportunity exists to be the Programme Leader for Health and Social Care at The City College in London. The Programme Leader will be responsible for BTEC HND qualifications in Health and Social Care, Healthcare Practice, and Social and Community Work. The post will include teaching as well as management duties.

Remuneration: Negotiable, depending on skills and experience.
Start date: As soon as possible
Hours: Full-time

Requirements
To apply for this post you must:

  • Be educated to degree level (minimum)
  • Have experience of teaching health and social care, ideally at level 4/5 or higher
  • Have vocational experience in the sector (with up-to-date CPD)
  • Have experience of leading a relevant programme
  • Be familiar with QAA and the UK Quality Code
  • Be familiar with sector developments (OfS, OIA etc).
  • Have permission to work in the UK.

Applicants should also hold a recognised vocational or professional qualification in the health and social care sector (eg. HCPC registration, NMC registration or relevant vocational qualifications). A teaching qualification is preferred, as is familiarity in working with students whose first language may not be English.

The person appointed must be innovative, flexible, organised and possess a ‘can do’ attitude.  Attention to detail, meeting deadlines and the ability to work under pressure are prerequisite, as is having an excellent command of English and excellent communication skills.

Duties
Duties will include writing assignments briefs, writing schemes of work, teaching, providing student feedback, marking assignments and assisting with internal verification. Lecturers also attend relevant meetings and participate in department and college-wide activities.

Remuneration
Negotiable, depending on skills and experience.

Hours
Part-time (up-to-four days a week and agreed according to staff availability and college needs).
