Getting on the road to a career in education and training is not something that happens overnight. Our DET qualification is not for beginners, but for individuals who are already in a teaching role. To study for a DET diploma, you’ll need to commit to 360 hours of learning plus 100 hours of teaching. Traditionally, this should take anywhere from 12-24 months.

Your classes will consist of weekly sessions along with independent study. This allows our students to strike a balance between class time and their own time; skills which are integral to those in a teaching environment.

At the end of the course, students who successfully pass will receive a Level 5 award with 120 credits, This will allow you to apply for your Qualified Teacher Status (QTLS) with the Society for Education & Training (SET) and enter a full time teaching role.
